EMERGENCY RESPONSE UNIT

The Emergency Response Unit (ERU) of Macedonian Red Cross represents an important segment for implementation of the disaster preparedness programme in the country and abroad.

The emergency response unit is comprised of volunteers, specialists in different areas. The ERU has a commander and five teams: first aid team, mountain rescue team, team for water safety, team for water and sanitation and medical team.

The members of the team have personal and collective equipment. They regularly attend training seminars for education, and maintain the condition and provide training for new members.

Through regular exercises they show their preparedness and training for rapid response in case of emergency situations.

All major cultural and sports events are organized in presence of the ERU which look s after the safety of the participants.
